Q: CAN I USE SWELL IF WE DON'T USE FOSS KITS?A: Yes. We can tailor the lessons to be an extension of the existing science curriculum. The lessons align with the State Science Content Standards for California Public Schools, Science Framework for California and meet the learning objectives set out by the California Department of Education. We have developed hands-on SWELL kits to teach the inquiry-based SWELL lessons in all classrooms.Originally, the SWELL lessons were designed to be an extension of the existing science curriculum used with inquiry-based FOSS (Full Option Science System) hands-on science kits In SDUSD and OUSD. The SWELL lessons depend heavily on the students already having the body of knowledge contained in the FOSS kit and then using that to apply to new learning experiences. In addition, the lessons align with the State Science Content Standards for California Public Schools, Science Framework for California and meet the learning objectives set out by the California Department of Education.
