Want to do more?

Students have embraced SWELL and their unique learning experiences with the curriculum. For example, Kimberly Berzunsa's 5th grade class at Edison Elementary in SDUSD were named "runner-up" in Disney's Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge. Their class project was titled "Clean Streets for a Clean Bay" and was inspired by their 5th grade SWELL unit of study.

There are many ways for students to expand on their SWELL lessons that are learned in the classroom and apply them to real-life experiences.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Project SWELL curriculum will foster a sense of stewardship for our natural environment and help to empower and educate these future leaders of America to understand and improve the condition of San Diego's coast and waterways.
